CARING INSTRUCTIONS

WASHING WOOL
Firstly make sure your item really needs a wash. Unlike manmade materials, wool does not need to be washed frequently. Try gentle spot cleaning and regular airing instead.

If you do need to wash your product, then choose a machine wash cycle at a temperature no higher than 30 degrees and use the delicates/wool wash if you have one. If you are using soap then make sure it is suitable for the wool you are washing and use a small amount.

If you are hand washing, soak the item in tepid water for about half an hour, then rinse well and press out the excess water, without wringing.

Some of our products say they are dry clean only, but all wool is washable. So if you are nervous about washing your item at home, we recommend that you use a dry cleaners.

Wool is nature’s miracle fibre, whose properties can’t be beaten by any manmade product.

With the right care, your So Cosy product is capable of lasting you a lifetime.

JUTE - CARING
Jute is a natural plant fibre. Over time if frequently exposed to direct sunlight, you will probably notice more fading than you would from a synthetic material. Jute will always try to revert to its natural state, so it is advisable to keep out of direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time to reduce fading.

If using the baskets as a plant pot cover, remove the plant to water and ensure leaves are dry before putting back to prevent the basket getting wet. Plants need to be in a ceramic pot that won’t leak water from the bottom.

Jute is an extremely strong natural fibre that can hold up to lots of wear and use. However, high humidity or water can break down this strength, so you should not expose any jute products to highly damp conditions.

CLEANING

Regular vacuuming is the best care to keep the appearance of your jute rugs fresh and prevent dirt accumulating in the fibres. Vacuum the rug from different directions, making several passes over the area. Vacuum both sides of the rug as well as the floor underneath.

Remember our rugs are double sided, so use both sides for even wear.

Surface clean with mild soap and a dab of water. Dry off with a hair dryer or fan.

Use a soft bristle brush and a dab of water to immediately clean spills on a jute rug or placemat. Once a spill is set, it may become a stain and become difficult to remove.

Clean liquid spills by blotting. Avoid rubbing the spill. Club soda may be used to neutralise acidic spills such as red wine or tomato sauce.

Scrape solid spills with a dull knife, and then brush with a soft bristle brush. Follow by vacuuming.
