Our countryside showroom is always a hive of activity when we open our doors to our lovely customers for appointments! We recently welcomed a very special guest to our beautiful barn.
We received a visit from Verity Martin, Fundraising Manager at Stevenage Community Trust, a fantastic cause of which we’ve been long-time and hugely passionate supporters. In this blog post, we thought we’d shine the spotlight on our partnership so far, exploring the fundraisers of the past and talking charity for 2023 and beyond.
The charity that won our heart
Stevenage Community Trust is a charity that has always held a special place in our hearts. They’ve been helping the local community for more than two decades, making a difference to the everyday lives of the people who need it on our very doorstep.
Here Stevenage Community Trust explains more about their fascinating and utterly inspiring history:
“In 1989 Hilda Lawrence was appointed the first female mayor for Stevenage. It was during this time that she convinced local businesses to assist with the creation of Stevenage Community Trust to help those less fortunate in the town and surrounding villages. Thanks to the relentless support from local businesses and generous individuals since the Trust was created in 1990, we have been able to distribute in excess of £2m in grants…”
Our journey so far with the Trust
World Kindness Day may have been and gone but we’re always thinking about how we can support our fantastic local community and all those in it. With this, we’ve been avid supporters of Stevenage Community Trust and their fantastic work.
Our latest fundraiser for the Trust saw us pledge £1 from every order from November to the end of 2022 to the charity, and your love of our cosy creations saw us finish the year in style! The campaign went one step further than previous fundraisers to ensure our most generous donation yet to the Trust. And it couldn’t have been possible without the incredible support from all our amazing customers!
The So Cosy pledge for 2023
We want to do even more for the charity during 2023. Whilst our grand plans are still being worked out, we’re looking forward to supporting this wonderful charity to help our local community, and all those in it, thrive.
That’s why our meeting with Verity was so important. We had so much fun talking about how we could support Stevenage Community Trust going forward, and are even thinking about becoming a member!
